Perhaps we should have gone with plastic...

After Asher "studied" elephants at daycare (whatever "studied" means when your 2), my Mom bought him 4 ceramic elephants that stand in a line with trunks linking tails. Asher instantly loved them.

Since I didn't see much point in a 2 year owning something that was purely decorative, I let Asher play with them.

It now looks as though the elephants were mauled in a tiger attack. They are missing legs and trunks all over the place.

On the plus side, I think they would look fantastic in a diorama. The legless elephant could be sinking into a muddy marsh pit while the rest of the family is attacked by a saber tooth tiger. Hmm... I wonder if that would give Asher nightmares.
