What does a cat have to do to get some attention around here?

Spinx is still working hard to find ways to get our attention back from Asher.

His old, basic cat adorability just doesn't seem to work as well anymore. Deenesh and I just always seem to get distracted by someone else.
He's certainly been observant. He seems to have caught on that laundry basket cuteness is a sure way to get attention.

And that whenever Asher is on the diaper changing mat that he gets attention.

He's tried finagling his way into the cuteness of Asher's tent.

He's even pulled out the big guns.

"Yeah, let's see you get up here, kid"

This one we aren't sure if he is trying to be cute, or if he's just hiding from Asher. Either way, it works.

Of course at the end of the day, if you can't beat em, join em.

Cookie vs. Smoothie

Last week we gave Asher his first chocolate chip cookie. And it was warm!

He liked it. But appears to like smoothies more.

This was the first time we gave Asher a smoothie with no lid.

We decided to go back to using a lid.

Asher's first lie

Asher has officially told his first lie.

We were coloring yesterday and there was a sound of gas and he looked at me and said "Poop!"

I looked at him and said "Asher, did you poop?"

You could see his mind quickly calculate that if he admitted it we would have to stop coloring and change his diaper, so he looked at me and said "No."

And then he went back to coloring.

Boy Band

Asher started a boy band.

Well, a father-son boy band. Deenesh is already turning into the soccer dad equivalent of a band manager. Focus Asher! Focus!

Tobbogans Rule

Asher is a big fan of the tobbogan. The moment you pull it out, he is in it.

And then it's up to you to figure out how to get it down the hallway, out of the building and into the snow, because he is not moving.

Perhaps he likes it so much because he's figured out that a sweet ride is how you score all the chicks.

Poor Ege doesn't have a tobbogan. See how sad he looks? But maybe he's just sad because he doesn't like having to wear Sophia's hat with flowers on it. Or because he's figured out that when his parents return this weekend, he will no longer be an only child.

Asher Snow Photo

My mom requested that I take a photo of Asher in the snow to tell the depth of the snow.

This was Asher's least favorite moment of Saturday. He did not like being in the snow at all thank you very much. He would much rather be safe in his toboggan. Luckily, due to the deception of photography, I was able to find a photo where his pre-crying grimace looks almost like a smile.

I'd like to point out to my mother that there are other ways to tell the depth of the snow. You could take a look at the snow level on your car.

Or how high the snow comes up on the swings.

But apparently in the last 30 years or so these ideas have not occurred to my mother. Yes, I have evidence that my mom has a history of making babies cry by making them stand in the snow. (That poor baby is probably still scarred)

Although, perhaps torturing babies is just inherent to some parents. Here's the photo that Deenesh insisted we needed. This was Asher's least favorite moment of the weekend.
It's hard to see, but his face looks a bit like this.

But just so you don't get the idea that all we do is torture babies, here's a happy moment photo for you. I suspect it's no coincidence that it is right after Deenesh was pushed into the snow.

Getting ready for the Super Bowl

Pulling hair out, yelling at the screen.

These guys are ready for the Super Bowl.

And this is just watching the weather channel.
