Hawk

The other day I was on my computer while Asher was playing in the other room (I was actually doing work stuff, I wasn't just neglecting my child!)

Asher came in and whispered "Mom.  Come look.  There's a bird.  Be quiet." 

So we crept into the room, and sure enough there was a bright red bird outside in the trees.  "It's a cardinal"  he told me. 

About 2 minutes later he came in and once again whispered.  "Mom.  Come look.  There's a bird.  Be quiet."  This time he added, "This is a big one!" 

Sure enough, it was a big one. And it was right on our porch. 

He's since visited a second time.  And the best part...our local squirrel hasn't been quite as active since he's been hanging around.  We might get a peach from our tree yet!
