Little teacher

Asher loves picking his sister up from daycare because he gets to visit his old pre-K class and read them a book.  He does a really good job, and then he asks lots of questions to test their comprehension after he's done reading.

Strawberry jam

Picking the strawberries

Waiting for the ferry

Making the strawberry jam

(Kiera was reluctant to squash the strawberries, but once she started, she loved it)

Eating the strawberry jam on ice cream!  Delicious!!

My mom is a celebrity!

My mom and her friend recently had their first gig playing flute at a nursing home.  They did a fantastic job, and the residents really seemed to enjoy it.

Monday mommy day

There are so many fun things to go out to do, it's easy to forget that sometimes the best days are just staying home.

After much persuasion she convinced me to get out the paints. She promised not to put the paint on her hands and only use the paintbrushes.

It was not a promise she was capable of keeping.

It was a lot of painting, and she had an amazing time. And then we played with insta-snow.

And then we did leave the house, but it was to meet daddy and Nana for lunch! And there was ice cream!

It was an awesome day.

Annual photo

"I a big girl.  I sit here."

To see previous years' photos check out this post - http://sohonifamily.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html.

These photos started out as a fluke, but now I love doing them every year.

He throws like a... Uh...crazy person?

My normally very athletic son doing some kind of crazy throw.  As if the photo of him wasn't great enough, love the look on his friend's face.  (He normally has a great arm, but was having a hard time getting the hang of throwing underhand).

Science Day

We had a fantastic time at VIMS science day. The guys caught shrimp, crabs and a bunch of little fish. For a while I didn't think we'd be able to get Asher to any of the other areas.

It was windy on the beach, and Kiera refused to go in the water.  But we met up with one of her favorite friends from school and they had a great time.

"Kiera, you have to hold hands across the street.  Do you want to hold my hand?"  "No, I hold Asher's hand"

My heart absolutely melts whenever they hold hands.
Inserting DNA. Well, not real DNA.  This time.
